1874 – Adrien Albert Athanase Baneux (1874-1931), French medical caricaturist under the pseudonym Adrien Barrère. Produced a series of lithographs of the Professors in the Faculties of Medicine (4) and the Law (2) in 1904
1908 – Maurice Lev (1908-1994), American cardiologist. Described Lenègre-Lev syndrome (1964), Lev’s Disease and the Aging Conduction System
Deaths
1813 – James Marion Sims (1813-1883), American surgeon; decribed the Sims position, and invented the Sims Speculum and Sims Sigmoid Catheter
1915 – Auguste Louis Jules Millard (1830-1915), French physician; described Millard-Gubler syndrome (1856)
1955 – Arthur Hale Curtis (1881-1955), American football player, coach, and gynecologist; described Fitz-Hugh Curtis syndrome (1930)
