1853 – Frederick Forchheimer (1853-1913), American pediatrician; described Forchheimer spots (1898)
1897 – Achille Mario Dogliotti (1897-1966), Italian surgeon; defined Dogliotti’s principle in neuraxial blockade (1931), developed chemical neurolysis for intractible pain, and performed the first successful human operation using total extracorporeal blood circulation.
1915 – Thomas Geoffrey Barlow (1915-1975), English Orthopaedic surgeon; described the Barlow maneuver (Barlow test) (1961)
