1914 – Walter Holbrook Gaskell (1847-1914), British physiologist central to our current understanding of cardiac physiology
1922 – William Stewart Halsted (1852-1922), American surgeon; invented Halsted Gloves and described Halsted Operation (Radical Mastectomy) and Halsted Syndrome. He performed one of the earliest recorded human-to-human blood transfusions…and so much more
1936 – Berkeley George Andrew Moynihan, Lord Moynihan of Leeds (1865-1936), English General surgeon; described Moynihan sign (1905), Moynihan’s hump of right hepatic artery and Moynihan’s gutter
1953 – Robert Kienböck (1871-1953), Austrian radiologist. Described Kienböck disease (1910) and invented the Kienböck Quantimeter (1905)
