1885George Philo Pitkin (1885-1943), American surgeon, inventor, and pioneer of controllable spinal anaesthesia. Associated with Spinocain, the Pitkin spinal needle, Pitkin San-a-lok syringe, and the Pitkin tiltometer.

1904 – Jean Lenègre (1904-1972), French cardiologist; pioneer in elucidating the pathology of intraventricular conduction disturbances


Deaths

1913Alfred Lewis Galabin (1843-1913), English obstetric physician. Recognized for his first documentation of AV block in humans and his two textbooks: Diseases of Women (1879) and A Manual of Midwifery (1886)
