1835 – Baron Guillaume Dupuytren (1777-1835), French Surgeon. Described Dupuytren fracture (1819), Dupuytren contracture (1831), Dupuytren classification of burns (1828), Dupuytren-Nélaton disease (1832) and more.
1852 – William Peter Hort (1799-1852), English born, American physician; first published use of charcoal as an antidote, in America
1902 – Nil Fyodorovich Filatov (1847-1902), Russian pediatrician; described Filatov-Dukes disease (Fourth disease) (1885); Filatov disease (infectious mononucleosis) 1887 and the Filatov mask / Filatov triangle
1936 – Sir Charles Alfred Ballance (1856-1936), English surgeon; described Ballance (triad) sign (1898). Ballance made numerous surgical firsts, including the complete removal of a cerebellopontine angle tumour and the first documented facial nerve crossover anastomosis (1895)
